It’s Opening Day! It’s finally arrived! The cold winter is over…

It’s Opening Day! It’s finally arrived! The cold winter is over and we have emerged – new and beautiful, with a spring in our step and a song in our hearts – for baseball is back again. Praise be!

Before we settle onto our couches, our favorite bar’s stool, or just sneak glances at MLB.TV while at work, here are a few things you should read. Why should you read them? Because I wrote them. Is that not a good enough reason? Great, thanks, now you’ve given me a complex.

I ranked the 75 best uniforms in baseball. Despite the fact that I wear graphic tee-shirts roughly 95% of the time, I have impeccable taste. (Maybe not?)

A few other things:

Prove you’re ready for Opening Day by taking our Opening Day starters silhouette quiz. Because no matter how silly it is to rank starters by how many Opening Days they pitched on, I still love the honor that’s bestowed upon them on this most glorious of days.

Here’s a handy checklist to see if you really are ready for the big day.

And finally, in the most recent In Short Order, I outline why it’s the guessing at who is going to break out that is the most fun. Plus: The Brewers Spring Training facility has amazing groundskeepers, Josh Harrison has a mullet and the Rays bullpening plan isn’t the first time they’ve gone weird.

And now some things I didn’t write:

Grant Brisbee is amazing. Here is his season preview

Ichiro is ready for his Safeco return

Spring Training stat lines may say nothing, but they still happened. Matt Kelly looks at the weirdest ones from 2018

Have a grand opening day, everyone!
